A Case of Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma

Abstract
Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is an uncommon benign tumor of vasular fibrotic nature with expansive growth and locally invasive tendency.
It is considered clinically malignant, because of anatomical relationship, bleeding tendency in surgical procedures and resistant to treatment.
Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is generally considered to be a lesion which occurs almostly in adolescent males, but some authors have reported small cases in females.
Recently, the author has experienced a case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. A 17-Year-old male student was admitted to our hospital with complaints of long¢¥ standing nasal obstruction and recurrent nasal bleeding for 3 years duration.
The tumor mass has occupied nasopharyngeal cavity and under the free margin of the soft palate. The treatment was done surgically under general anesthesia. On histological examination it was confirmed to be nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. The postoperative course was uneventful until postop. 8 Months.
